chickadee hatched!!!

we are pregnant! chicks' mamas are totally thrilled! we are beside ourselves with joy. we feel like the luckiest mamas in the world and we haven't yet met our chickadee!

we'll get to meet chickadee sometime in October. seems far off now and i'm sure it'll feel even further off when it's 126 degrees this summer. you'll see me at deep eddy, for sure!

one question - if chickadee is the size of a sesame seed today, why does my belly look like this?

so far, my symptoms are quite strong and include:

- big, sore boobs

- freakish hunger

- peeing lots

- drinking lots

- INCREDIBLE intuition - freakish even. so watch out!

- interesting stretching sensations in my uterus - i'm imagining it's our placenta digging in and creating a strong hold.

- vivid dreams. i tend to have vivid dreams, but these are EVERY SINGLE night!

- gagging at the slightest offensive smell. last night our adorable evie decided to heave her dinner. Lucy had already gone to bed and i was still up knitting. i went to go clean it up off the kitchen floor and this gagging sensation came over me. i thought all my dinner might come up. i couldn't stop gagging. Lucy woke up and asked what the *&%$ was going on. i was holding a rubber glove in my hand and told her i couldn't do it. i had to sniff peppermint oil to make the gagging stop. then evie proceeded to heave ALL NIGHT LONG! it was a rough night. i finally got her to settle down in her bed next to our bed, around 4 am. Lucy asked how i got her to stop and i told her it was my jedi mind tricks....

so, this blog will now track in detail chickadee's growth and discoveries, as well as ours and also my knitting adventures. on the needles now is a green ruffle edge scarf. our midwife showed me how to make ruffles! my knitting world has turned upside down!

YEA chickadee YEA knitting YEA chickadee YEA knitting!

i'm hungry. again.
